After taking months away from racing, I decided to begin running distance again this past spring. Unfortunately, I injured my hamstring and was not able to compete in my local half-marathon.

Before my injury, I was running every day, increasing my mileage 10 percent each week to reach my goal and maintain endurance.

After seeing a doctor about the injury, he sidelined me, of course. I thought I would be stiff and hobbling in no time with no exercise. But he did allow me to continue my yoga while I healed (I didn’t really give him much of a choice).
